Express Keratin
What it is:
Don’t let the name fool you - this is our favourite keratin treatment!
In just one hour your hair is smoother, more manageable, faster drying and easier to style, with results lasting up to 8 weeks.
On the Day:
· Allow 1 hour in the salon.
· You’ll leave with the product still in your hair, it will but super straight, but may feel a little “yuck” until your first wash.
· You’ll need to wait a minimum of 8 hours before getting your hair wet.
FAQs
· Will it make my hair straight?
Nope! Keratin smoothing treatments are designed to reduce frizz, add shine, and make your hair easier to manage.
But if you’re a curly girl we recommend chatting with your stylist before having a keratin done, as it can disrupt your curl pattern.
· Can I colour my hair?
Yes! It’s best to do your express keratin treatment as soon after a colour as possible - even on the same day! You can do the keratin before a colour appointment, but you might find your results don’t last.
IMPORTANT:
You need to keep your hair dry for a minimum of 8 hours.
If your hair gets wet before you’re able to wash it (even if you just get it sweaty) we recommend blowdrying and straightening again ASAP.
KC Smooth
What it is:
A classic keratin smoothing treatment, with results lasting up to 12 weeks with no downtime before you wash.
On the Day:
KC SMOOTH
· Allow about 90 minutes in the salon
· You’ll leave with the product in your hair, which can sometimes feel a bit “yuck” but you can wash it out as soon as you like.
KC SMOOTH PLUS
· Allow 2 Hours in the salon
· After the treatment we will wash it out, add a treatment and then blowdry and style your hair for you.
FAQs
· Will it make my hair straight?
Nope! KC Smooth reduces frizz and bulk, making hair more manageable, but it won’t completely straighten your texture. If you’re naturally curly, it will disrupt your curl pattern, so have a chat with your stylist first!
· Can I colour my hair?
Yes! Although a KC Smooth treatment can lift your colour or toner, so for the best results we recommend having your colour done AFTER your KC Smooth treatment. Or add on a toner/glaze to keep your colour looking fresh too!
IMPORTANT:
Avoid heat tools over 180ºC before your first wash - too much heat can strip your toner or colour
Use the right products
It is really important that you use a shampoo and conditioner with approved ingredients, the right balance of moisture and protein, as well as ideally containing either actual keratin or a form of vegan keratin to extend the life of your treatment.

Heat protection is also very important - without heat you won’t get the smoothest results, and without heat protection you’re creating damage which creates breakage and frizz!

Your first shampoo
Express:
You’ll need to leave this in for a minimum of 8 hours, but the maximum is up to you.
Just remember, if you get it wet before your first shampoo, dry and straighten asap!
KC Smooth:
Whenever you like! Straight away, or wait until your next “everything shower” to wash.
Just remember the golden rule: no heat over 180° until after your first shampoo!
Both:
At your first wash it may take 2–3 shampoos to remove the slippery feeling - totally normal! Rinse and repeat with your keratin-safe products, then follow with conditioner.
Use heat for smoothness
Keratin is a heat activated smoother, even if you want to let your hair dry naturally, pop in a bit of heat protector and quickly use a hairdryer on warm/hot for like 1 minute..
This will tame a large majority of fluffies and give you a smoother result - remember your hair is going to dry a lot faster now, so using the hairdryer won’t be the laborious task it once was, and your hair will be sooo much smoother at the end!
